Tacitus will turn 5 years-old in September 2026 and was selected for use with Alaric’s daughters, not only to complement Alaric, but to bring back in the Charleston Chew bloodline–Charleston was the sire of our first buck, SG +*B Woest-Hoeve Kingfisher who was an amazing sire who went on to earn ELITE status in 2017. In our opinion, Charleston Chew proved to be one of the greatest bucks in the Nubian breed. Overall, Tacitus’ daughters are very consistent for type. He has improved toplines, breed type, and udders, especially udder shape, attachment, and texture–and he has really improved FEET! His offspring frequently don’t even need their hooves trimmed, because they are so well-balanced and wear evenly with just daily exercise. His daughters’ udders are buttery soft and easy milking with great fore- and rear attachments, making them a pleasure to milk. Tacitus’ daughters really make you understand the old statement that you’d better like a buck’s dam and granddam, because you’ll be looking at them in your own herd for years. I see Tap-Dance and Dylan everywhere I look. Without exception they all take after their dad in the temperament department, too. He’s my big teddy bear who always wants a pat or a hug. They are all sweethearts!
